Privacy Policy

Post Formatter is a browser extension that helps you format text for LinkedIn, X and Threads posts. This policy explains, in plain terms, what data the extension does and does not handle.
What the extension does not do
- It does not read, access, or modify any web page you visit.
- It has no permission to interact with LinkedIn, X, Threads, or any other site.
- It does not collect, store, or transmit the text you type or format.
- It does not track your browsing activity.
The extension is a self-contained text editor: you type or paste text into its popup, it applies Unicode styling locally in your browser, and you copy the result out yourself. Nothing about your post content ever leaves your device.
What data is collected
- Anonymous usage events (e.g. extension installed, a style button was clicked, the upgrade paywall was shown) — sent to PostHog for understanding which features are used. These events never include your post text, and are not linked to your name or email.
- License status — if you purchase the Pro upgrade, your license key is checked against our backend to confirm it's valid. The backend (built on Paddle, our payment processor) stores your license key and the email address Paddle collects during checkout, solely to verify purchases and provide support.
Payments
Purchases are handled entirely by Paddle.com, our merchant of record. We never see or store your payment card details — see Paddle's privacy policy for how they handle checkout data.
